- People likely can’t more do more than ~4 hours of intense, concentrated brainwork each day.
- Creativity requires knowledge for the unconscious brain to work with when you aren’t consciously working.
- Working with good people feels good.
- Quality matters, and it’s hard.
- People can’t really multi-task effectively. Rapidly switching between tasks hurts productivity.
- Scrolling the apps in between working is probably not an effective form of rest.
- Learning new things feels good.
- Learning from other people is effective.

- Communicating complex ideas to your precise audience is a rare and valuable skill.
- Communicating well in general is valuable.
- Chat is not the best interface for literally everything.
- People want to work with people that are kind, usually a little more than they want to work with people who are smart.
- Simple solutions require more time, thought, and effort to build than complex ones.
- Writing things down on physical paper probably helps people remember things better.
- Veterans of each industry have a lot of wisdom, and much of it is probably untapped.
- Working-memory capacity is valuable.
- Being able to work with and talk about things without constantly looking things up is valuable.
- People often do great creative work by combining ideas from disparate areas. Breadth is valuable.
